@settings
Commands for viewing and managing bot configuration settings. Settings follow a channel → network → global → code default hierarchy.
Renamed from @config
Before v1.2.0 this command was @config. Limnoria's Config plugin always takes a bare @config, so the command is now @settings. @config on its own reaches only Limnoria's registry. See Limnoria @config vs Inquisitor @settings.
@settings get <key>
Permission: PLAY
Show the current value of a single setting along with its scope indicator (C=channel, N=network, G=global) and the resolved value at each level.
Example: @settings get game.hintDelay
@settings set <key> <value>
Permission: MODERATE (admin-only settings require ADMIN)
Set a configuration value at channel scope. Boolean values accept true/false, yes/no, 1/0, on/off (case-insensitive). Admin-only settings (autovoice.*, flood.*, permissions.*, kaos.bonusLow, kaos.bonusHigh, kaos.bonusMinAnswers, scoring.timezone, scoring.periodOffset and debug.verbose) require ADMIN permission. Global-only settings (debug.verbose) are refused at channel scope; set them with @settings set-default (global ADMIN).
Example: @settings set game.hintDelay 20 or @settings set scoring.minPoints 25
@settings reset <key> [--to-global]
Permission: MODERATE (admin-only settings require ADMIN)
Remove the channel override for a setting, causing it to fall back to the next level in the hierarchy (channel → network → global → code default). With --to-global, the network-level override is removed as well.
@settings reset --all removes every channel override. A caller without ADMIN resets every channel override except the admin-only settings.
Example: @settings reset game.hintDelay or @settings reset game.hintDelay --to-global or @settings reset --all
@settings export [channel|network]
Permission: MODERATE (exporting network settings requires ADMIN)
Export settings as a compact JSON string. channel is the default and exports this channel's settings. network exports the network-level settings. If the output exceeds 400 characters it is sent as a private notice to avoid flooding the channel.
Example: @settings export or @settings export network
@settings import <json>
Permission: MODERATE (ADMIN when the JSON contains admin-only settings)
Import settings from a JSON string previously exported with @settings export. All settings are validated before any changes are applied; invalid settings block the entire import.
Global-only settings (currently debug.verbose) are read only at the global scope, so import never writes them. The entry every export carries for one, with "scope":"G", is skipped, so an unmodified export imports cleanly. Any other value for a global-only setting is refused, as @settings set refuses it, and blocks the import. Change a global-only setting with @settings set-default.
Example: @settings import {"game.hintDelay":"20","game.questionTimeout":"90"}
@settings list [namespace]
Permission: PLAY
List all settings with their current values and scope indicators. Optionally filter by namespace: game, fuzzy, scoring, kaos, scramble, skip, bonus, autovoice, flood, permissions, debug.
Example: @settings list or @settings list scoring
@settings set-default <key> <value>
Permission: ADMIN (global ADMIN only: the setup admin or a Limnoria owner)
Set the global default value for a setting. Affects all networks and channels that do not have an explicit override. Does not overwrite existing network or channel overrides.
Example: @settings set-default game.delayBetweenQuestions 15
@settings show-overrides <setting_key>
Permission: ADMIN
List the channels on this network that override a setting. A global ADMIN sees the overrides on every network.
Example: @settings show-overrides game.hintDelay
@settings diff [--with-default | #channel | network]
Permission: PLAY
Compare this channel's settings with another context. With no argument, or with --with-default, the comparison is against the global defaults. #channel compares with that channel, and a network name compares with that network (another network: global ADMIN only). The reply is No differences found with <target> when the settings are equal.
Example: @settings diff or @settings diff #science
@settings help [subcommand]
Permission: None
List the @settings subcommands, or print the usage line of one subcommand.
Example: @settings help or @settings help reset
